Employee Spotlight: Logan Olson, Watertown Retail Wireless Consultant

Logan Olson is a recent addition to the mkC crew. Let’s welcome Logan to the family by getting to know him better!

At which store locations do you work?

I primarily work in Lake Mills. However, I occasionally work in other locations such as Watertown and Fort Atkinson.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Watertown and I now live about 15 minutes away in a small country-town named Milford.

What phone are you using right now?

The phone I’m currently using is an iPhone 6s. What I like about it is my storage space, the gold color, and all of the other benefits of an iPhone! I’m a huge fan of Apple products, I’m really glad that our company is too!

Can you recall your favorite moment while working with mkCellular?

My favorite customer interaction just happened a few days ago. A woman visited our store looking to replace her previous phone. I helped her set up her new phone and in the process we somehow got on the conversation of space and astronomy (A subject I’m passionate about). I informed her how Wisconsin has the world’s largest refracting telescope only 45 minutes away and she never knew it existed. She told me I had made her day and it’s hearing those words that really inspire me.

What is your favorite snack?

My favorite snack is Pocky. If you haven't heard of it, you're really missing out! They’re cracker sticks coated in chocolate. The only thing I don't like about them is how quickly they disappear!

What do you like doing in your free time?

I like going hiking and going on adventures with my girlfriend. My life has become busier as of late, but spending time with my friends and family is still very important. I frequently go to movies and concerts with them. My favorite concert experience so far is Imagine Dragons. The best movie I've seen recently is Logan, not only because it's literally my name, but because I'm a giant superhero fan and wolverine is my favorite character.

Do you have a favorite celebrity?

My favorite celebrity would have to be Leonardo DiCaprio. He's my favorite because I think he’s one of the greatest actors of all-time and an activist for the environment. He really inspires me because he tries to make a difference in the world.

Are there any significant role models in your life?

My role model in life is my grandfather. He raised me into the person I am today and is my father figure. He helped show me the good things in life and I wouldn’t be who I am today if I didn’t have him. I look up to him because he puts others first - he’s selfless. He’s helped me learn that life is what you make of it and there’s always good in every situation.

Do you have any pets?

I have two cats and a dog. My cats are named Draax and Orion (I named them myself) and my dog's name is Bella. One pet I recently lost was my family dog of the past 12 years, Buster. It really feels like we lost a family member. He was definitely more than just a dog and I'll miss him very much.

Have you traveled to any interesting places?

I sure have! I’ve travelled all across the country actually. The last time I counted I’ve been to 39 states, but eventually I will make it to 50. The top of my bucket list is to travel to another country for the first time, and that country is 100% Ireland.

What product at mkCellular do you think customers NEED to have? (What product excites you most?)

I think Cellhelmet Liquid Glass is absolutely awesome! Tempered glass is cool too, but the liquid glass makes your phone feel really state of the art and gives you that “Wow this is seriously cool!” feeling.
