Our StoryIn 1996, the first MKcellular "office" was simply the trunk of a car owned by our Founder, Mark Erdmann. Mark sold phones directly to local businesses and going to people's homes by appointment. In 2001, he opened our first 100 sq. ft store across from Walgreens in Fort Atkinson. A few years later, we relocated to a 1,300 sq. ft space, where we operated from until mid-2014. Today, our 5,000 sq. ft flagship store is located at 730 Madison Ave. We continue to grow and today, operate 15 stores with a staff of 60+ in the following communities: Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Elkhorn, Lake Mills, Watertown, Oconomowoc, Columbus, Pewaukee, Mukwonago, New Berlin, Delavan, Beloit, Whitewater, Kenosha and Lake Geneva. Additional stores are planned.
MKcellular Senior Leadership includes our VP of Operations, Mike Ehlers, who is responsible for planning, developing and improving the operations strategy within the company to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency. Tommy Kempfer, Vice President of Retail, oversees the wellbeing and performance of our retail locations. He is assisted by Jon Stark and the stores managers at each of their respective locations.
Our retail associates rotate different stores during training for a well-rounded perspective. Our focus is on good customer service, helping and educating customers with the constant availability of new wireless devices and services. Our large base of our retail and business customers have been doing business with MKcellular for 25+ years. "We strive to do the right thing for the right reason for our customers and staff at all times." We believe it is important for businesses to positively impact communities, so we support the local chambers and welcome opportunities to participate in positive community events. We are committed to building partnerships with businesses and organizations that help make communities a better place to live and work. We believe doing the right things for the right reasons encourages ethical standards of behavior in all activities.
